Cloud BT-1 for Florida School Airnasium

Cloud BT-1 for Florida School Airnasium

Airnasiums, designed for basketball, street hockey or almost any sport or game, are outdoor spaces, usually with overhead coverings, perfect for free play, tournaments or for use as activity or meeting spaces.

A local High School in Florida called specialist audio-visual contractor Richard Shafer from Rick’s Sound and Light, Inc based in Cape Coral, Florida to provide suitable audio-solutions for the multi-purpose Airnasium at the school.

“At least once a month the school holds outdoor assemblies for which they require microphones and a pa system. The school also has regular children’s performances in addition to the PE department regularly holding basketball and volleyball tournaments”, comments Shafer.

“We decided to install a Cloud MPA-120 Mixer Amplifier for the Airnasium, which provides us with up to 4 microphone inputs, in addition to six line inputs and 120 watts output, which was plenty for this project”, adds Shafer.

“We used the new Cloud BT-1 Bluetooth Wall plate, which we mounted in enclosures along with all of the other equipment approximately 12-feet in the air, courtside at the airnasium. The BT-1 is hardwired as a selectable input to the MPA-120 and allows a local portable device to be used as a selectable audio source and mixed with the microphone inputs for performances and presentations, even in situations when the BT-1 is located at a great distance from the mixer amplifier”, continues Shafer.

“We key switched the MPA-120 to provide operational rights for teachers/presenters, whilst leaving the BT-1 discoverable and also hardwired a local supplementary XLR microphone input” said Shafer.

“For this project I am happy we proposed a simple-to-use but professional solution for the school’s presentations and sports activities”, concludes Shafer.
