Definition Audio Visual recently completed the audio system installation at the iconic The Dome swimming pool in Doncaster. The project involved a complete Cloud Electronics sound system, including speakers, amplifiers, zone control equipment, and paging microphone facilities.
High-Quality Audio Coverage Throughout The Venue.
A range of Cloud speakers were installed to provide clear and reliable sound coverage across the entire leisure complex tailored to each environment.
Within the shallow pool, deep pool, and outdoor rock area, CS-S8T IP-rated speakers were installed as a 100 volt line speaker system. These weather-resistant speakers are ideal for humid and demanding leisure environments, delivering excellent audio clarity while withstanding moisture and temperature fluctuations.
In the upper viewing gallery and reception area Cloud CSS6 speakers were mounted neatly to the suspended white cable tray system, ensuring consistent background music and public address coverage throughout the public spaces.
The changing rooms, toilets and walkway were fitted with Cloud CS-C5 and CS-C6 ceiling speakers to maintain seamless audio coverage throughout the facility.
Centralised Audio Control System.
All the audio control equipment was installed within a secure lockable rack cabinet located in the upstairs plant room. The system was designed to offer flexible multi-zone audio management and straightforward day-to-day operation for staff.
The audio installation included:
- Cloud Z8 eight-zone mixer
- Four Cloud CA2500 digital amplifiers
- One Cloud CA2250 digital amplifier
This combination of equipment provides reliable amplification, independent zone control, and the flexibility to manage music and announcements across different areas of the venue.
Paging & User Control.
For staff communication and simple user operation, a Cloud PM8 paging microphone was installed at the reception desk alongside a Cloud BT2 Bluetooth and auxiliary input plate, allowing staff to easily connect external audio devices when required.
Individual volume adjustment throughout the venue is controlled using the Cloud RL1-8 remote volume control units installed neatly within the dado trunking, giving staff convenient local control of audio levels in each zone.
