At the end of a great day skiing powder at the largest Ski resort in the US, you will likely follow the crowds and ski or board to the base of Park City Resort, joining the aprés ski crowds at the Corner Store Pub and Grill to celebrate a great day.
The Corner Store Pub and Grill is nestled at the base of the Park City resort, which now encompasses the Canyons resort and PCMR. Most days you will find a large crowd on the plaza outside enjoying cold beers and chili cheese fries, recounting best turns of the day.
The Corner Store, in its tenth year since returning to Park City, is operated by Max Doilney. The original Corner Store was operated by Max’s parents and since reopening has emerged as the place local skiers, mountain employees and tourists meet before and after a day on the slopes.
Max recently upgraded the installed audio system at his lively venue in order to accommodate growing crowds. Max chose a multi-zone audio solution from Cloud Electronics, USA as an upgrade from a the clunky multi mixer setup where the budget for splitters was exceptionally high.
Each zone of the Corner Store including bar, deck and walk-up restaurant provides customers with enticing choices to power you up for your day and to wind down after time on the mountain.
A lively bar provides background music, in addition to audio from TV channels and installed DVD player (ski porn on repeat). A localized source selection control allows staff to switch easily between audio inputs, immediately visiting crowds pile in and demand to catch the 4th quarter of the college football game.
New Cloud CS-S6 Surface speakers installed in the restaurant ensure customers are soothed, even on stormy days, when music plays out clearly over the hustle and bustle of ensuing crowds.
Outside on the Plaza crowds congregate at the end of the day for well earned libations and comfort food for bunnies and bros exhausted by the slopes. Regularly entertained by live bands, music and sports coverage, a number of EV loudspeakers provide higher SPL’s (sound pressure levels) and improved low-frequency response a the crowd grows. A localized audio input plate allows visiting bands/DJ’s to plug directly into the house system.
Max Doilney comments, “The control of our audio system needs to be as simple and effective as possible so staff can make adjustments on the fly, at short notice, to required zones. We also need flexibility of multiple inputs, depending upon the time of day, the levels of crowds and requests from the crowds for each of the three zones, we now ensure all requirements are met easily”.
Replacing a full rack of equipment with just 3U of Cloud equipment, a Cloud CX-263 Mixer Zoner (1U) and Cloud VTX-4400 4-Channel Amplifier (2U) allows the venue to repurpose previous space allocated for the sound system for better use, whilst at the same time improving audio performance and flexibility, resulting in a versatile audio system to complement the changing requirements of this popular ski-town watering hole.
